Hong Kong's comic and game enthusiasts dressed to impressed at the start of the 2017 Ani-Com & Games convention.
The event runs from July 28 to Aug. 1 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. According to a city tourist website, it's a "treasure trove" of limited edition comics, figures and other paraphernalia.
Hong Kong photographers StudioEast captured some striking close-ups of the costumes on the first day. You can spot some exquisite work on some of these outfits, including one cosplayer who went as Raiden from the "Metal Gear" series.
