Thanks to everyone for making the First Annual Rod Ryan Morning Wood Derby a success!!
Rod's a former Cub Scout, and he remembers the best thing about scouting was the annual Pinewood Derby Races. The downside was being 10 years old and not trusted with a saw by his old man. Consequently, Rod never lent so much as a finger in making his cars.
So this was Rod's revenge. Adults got a chance they never had as a child — they actually got to build their own cars and compete against other adults in the region.

Many have asked if we will be doing this again. The answer is YES! Look for cars to go on sale the week of Thanksgiving 2006.

We would like to thank www.planesandtrainshobbies.com on Westheimer — the Official Rod Ryan Morning Wood Derby Headquarters — for helping us with the cars. For more tips on pinewood racing, see www.pinewood-derby-champ.com
