Over the weekend the craft community went into shock of the passing of Ash Rowell. Ash was home Friday night with his wife, three kids and few other children that were over for a slumber party.

There was a knock at the door and when Ash answered it he was shot and killed. The suspect immediately took off not harming anyone inside the home.

I am really honored to have known Ash and had been able to call him a friend. He was so positive and always had a smile on his face. He was a true pioneer to the craft community. It is hard to believe someone out there had so much hate that they wanted to commit such a heinous act.

Ash was the owner of Duff Distribution and had recently sold it to Favorite Brands in December. He was a walking Wiki page for craft beer. I learned a lot from Ash and will never forget him.
