One great thing about this country is not only the awesome beer, but the festivals that celebrate them.
Beer festivals are a great way to sample beers you have never had before. Where else can you pay a single ticket price and sample a whole bunch of free beer?
This past weekend Cloud 9 Charities presented the 2013 Best Little Brewfest in Texas. The festival was held in the middle of the Texas Motor Speedway track in Fort Worth. To have a beer festival in the hot Texas Summer is not the greatest idea. Luckily this event was held in a large garage that was equipped with air conditioning.
It was benefiting Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support and Teen Suicide Prevention. To my knowledge it is the only Texas craft beer festival that 100% of the proceeds go to charity. There were 50+ craft brewers and over 120 beers, many of which will be “one off’s” and new releases.
A DJ along with acoustic bands kept the patrons entertained inside, while those that braved the heat were rocked out by bands such as Mockingbird Station and The Knocking on the main stage.
